Oman to create 25,000 jobs in six months

(MENAFN) Oman is undertaking an effort to open 25,000 jobs in a period of six months, as part of a plan to reduce unemployment levels.

The country has made the decision to ease tensions of unemployed people who carried out a protest at the Ministry of Manpower to express their anger at unemployment levels.

The state news agency released a statement confirming "the cabinet is closely monitoring the implementation of the decision to create 25,000 jobs ... in no more than 6 months as a first phase."

Based on recent data, unemployment level has settled at 17.5% in 2016 as Oman efforts with private sector enterprises seemed to gradually resolve the matter.
