GCC to expect 21 percent rise by 2021 in Chinese arrivals
(MENAFN) Colliers International's latest data found the GCC to witness a 21% boost in visitors from China with 2.5 million tourists increasing per year.
Saudi Arabia is expected to attract the highest number of Chinese arrivals with a 35% increase, while the UAE is estimated to witness a 20% rise with Oman settling at 12% and Bahrain and Kuwait at 7%.
At the moment, the GCC has succeeded in attracting Chinese total outbound market of 1.9%, an increase from 1.3% in 2012.
Constructive trends are also predicted to be maintained with an expected 154 million arrivals from China throughout this year, along with 244 million tourists expected in 2022.
