Foreign firms invested 1.6 bn EURO in Netherlands last year
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BRUSSELS, Jan 25 (KUNA) -- Over 350 foreign firms invested a total of 1.67 billion euro (USD 2.07 billion) in the Netherlands last year, creating more than 12,500 jobs, according to Dutch media reports Thursday.
Quoting new figures from the Dutch economic affairs ministry, the reports said the US was had the biggest share of foreign investment, creating over 2,500 jobs.
In total, 18 companies, responsible for 483 jobs, made Brexit-related moves to the Netherlands, the ministry said.
This does not include the European Medicines Agency, which will move from London to Amsterdam, bringing 900 jobs, next year.
"The presence of foreign firms is important for the Netherlands," Dutch economic affairs minister Erik Wiebes said.
Almost 1.4 million Dutch people have a job, thanks to these companies, whether directly or indirectly, he added. (end) nk.mb
