Blockading nations targeting Al Jazeera to hide 'realities'

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The demand to shut down Al Jazeera by the four blockading countries is another form of pressure tactic, Doha resident Mir Mohammal Ali told Qatar Urdu Radio's live show Haqeeqat yesterday.
Ali spoke about the renewed calls to adhere to a list of 13 demands by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt for Qatar to accept in the aftermath of the siege that was illegally imposed since June 5 last year.
'The fact that the blockading countries are targeting media shows they do not want people to know the truth in the region. But it is the job of the media to report truth and reality on ground.
Ali said that despite the blockade, Qatar's market was growing steadily. 'Whether you look at the food market, businesses or constructions materials, you will see there is steady supply in the market and that has secured Qatar's growth and stability.
Haqeeqat is a joint venture of Gulf Times and Qatar Media Corp Urdu Radio. The show, hosted by Saif-ur-Rehman, aims to engage and interact with the large South Asian expatriate community in Qatar.
