Oman- Bank Muscat lauded for innovative CSR initiatives


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the sultanate, was honoured in recognition of its innovative corporate social responsibility initiatives and contributions to sustainable development at the CSR awards ceremony hosted by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the auspices of Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, chairman of Majlis Addawla. Fatma al Maskiry, AGM, SME and Trade Business, received the appreciation memento from the guest of honour on the occasion.

Maskiry said, 'Bank Muscat is proud to receive the OCCI honour in recognition of its unique CSR initiatives. As a forward looking financial institution, Bank Muscat is at the forefront in contributing to the society and thereby setting a fine example for the corporate sector to develop social responsibility as a corporate culture.

'As the pioneer of CSR activities in the banking sector in Oman, the bank has implemented several initiatives benefiting various segments of society and remains committed to sustainable development.'

The CSR and sustainability strategy pursued by Bank Muscat is focused on delivering long-term benefits to the community and the nation.

The Imprints initiative is the first-of-its-kind in Oman in terms of its scope and reach, seeking to unite different segments of people in making a big difference in reciprocating to what the country has given them.

The Imprints initiative has four key programmes to inculcate financial literacy, sustain green environment, encourage enriched lifestyle and promote sustainable tourism.

The Green Sports initiative has proven to be a thoroughly successful model for engaging the local community in establishing a modern sporting infrastructure. The support to develop modern sports infrastructure complements the government efforts.

Jesr al Mustaqbal educational support offered by the bank covers students from low income or social welfare families. The programme in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education provides educational and vocational training support.
