Jordan- Man stands trial for embracing Takfiri ideology


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 22 (Petra) -- The State Security Court (SCC) on Monday charged a man with carrying out acts that would endanger the safety and security of the society, incite sedition among people and disrupt public order.

According to the indictment, the defendant, who embraced Daesh Takfiri ideas, branded public schools as "apostate" and forced his children out of them. Further, the accused declared the Jordanian state "infidel state" and members of security agencies, government employees and most people living in Jordan mushrikeen (polytheists)".

The indictment also reveals that "the man was convinced that all officials papers such passport and ID are all 'shirk' (polytheism)". He even believed that "it was forbidden to pray behind a government-appointed imam", according to the indictment.
