AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah attended a ceremony held at the Husseiniya Palace on Wednesday to honour Prince Ra'ed Ben Zaid in appreciation to his tremendous participations in providing care to the disabled persons.

During the honouring ceremony, also attended by a group of Their Royal Highnesses, Prince Faisal Ben Al-Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC), handed Prince Ra'ed the international JOC award annually granted to a noted athletic personality to highlight his/her considerable services in the sports sector.

The attendees saw a video showcasing Prince Ra'ed's humanitarian efforts to extend care for the disabled people and to launch diverse initiatives to integrate them into their respective societies, a bid aimed to turn this segment into robust players in the disabled sports sector, who scored prominent sportive achievements at regional and global arenas.

Prince Ra'ed, for his part, expressed gratitude for the King's bid to honour him and added "this appreciation is an honouring to all citizens and athletics, who served Jordan honestly".

"This country deserves further allegiance and efforts," Prince Ra'ed said, and pledged to continue working under the King's leadership to realize achievements at all arenas to retain Jordan as an exemplary model.
