Yemen war kills or injured 5,000 children

(MENAFN) The UN children's agency said that the war in Yemen has killed or injured more than 5,000 children and left another 400,000 severely starving and on the break of near death.

UNICEF stated that almost two million Yemeni children dropped out of school, a quarter of them since the conflict intensified when a Saudi-led coalition intervened in March 2015, according to a report unveiled in Sanaa.

Children who were born into the war -which are more than three million- are "scarred by years of violence, displacement, disease, poverty, under nutrition and a lack of access to basic services".
