Saudi Arabia to begin USD7bn renewable energy projects


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia plans to initiate renewable projects in 2018 at a worth of up to $7 billion.

The Renewable Energy Project Development Office chief Turki Mohammed Al Shehri declared tenders to be issued for starting on eight projects amounted to a capacity of 4.125 gigawatts with expenses at $5-7 billion.

The chief also confirmed Saudi 2018 projects are to cover 3.3 gigawatts of solar photovoltaic power as well as 800 megawatts of wind.
