Kuwait- Tunisia nabs first gold medal in annual shooting tourney


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- Tunisia clinched its first gold medal Tuesday in the ongoing His Highness the Amir's International Shooting Grand Prix after Oulfa Sherney powered her way to victory in the women's 10 meter air rifle contest.

Sherney bested celebrated Bulgarian shooter Maria Grozdeva with 238 to 236 points, respectively, telling the press that the multiple time world champion gave her a tough challenge.

The Tunisian athlete expressed hope that she would be able to parlay her success in the tournament into an impressive outing in the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup due next March.
