Oman to host JMMC meeting


(MENAFN) The 7th meeting of the joint ministerial monitoring committee (JMMC), in collaboration with the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), will be in Oman, at the Grand Hyatt, Muscat, on Jan 21.

Ali al Riyami, director general - marketing at the Ministry of Oil and Gas, told reporters at a press conference on Sunday that ''It is for the first time that an OPEC event is taking place in Oman, and the proposed meeting is being supported by Oman Oil Company.''

OPEC and non-OPEC oil producing countries agreed to extend production cuts to the end of 2018 to support oil prices, the result of the agreement helped Brent crude prices to rise more than 50 percent, since mid-2017 and hit USD70 per barrel last week, for the first time since Dec 2014.
