Bahrain placed first in Islamic Finance within the GCC


(MENAFN) Bahrain topped all GCC countries in the field of Islamic Finance in a recent report conducted by Thomson Reuters with the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector.

Bahrain is reportedly ahead of all 24 Islamic banks holding assets of over $25.7 billion, as it offers access to Islamic finance as well as promoting it through education and financial literacy projects.

Local media reported Bahrain was listed first among all GCC countries while second in a worldwide scale, behind Malaysia in the fifth issue of the report.
