UAE: DEWA approves 2018 budget of USD7.2bn


(MENAFN) An overall 2018 budget of AED26.4 billion has been agreed on by Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), a boost of AED2 billion compared to 2017 budget.

The budget for this year includes investments in advances technologies, conventional and non-conventional energy sources, along with innovative projects.

The 2018 budget includes an investment of AED10 billion to capital projects and acquisitions, while the 2017 budget dedicated AED8.7 billion in this area, according to DEWA managing director and CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer.

The CEO also declared this year's budget to incorporate AED1.7 billion for power distribution, AED5 billion for power transmission, AED2.7 billion for electricity and water generation, and AED500 million for water transmission and distribution projects.
