Doha: Registration for a month-long Dates Festival at Souq Waqif has begun, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce has announced.
The festival 'Souq Al Tumur Al Musami (Seasonal Dates' Market) is scheduled from February 15 to March 15, 2018, said a release.
The registration is free for local and international companies producing, importing and supplying dates.
The venue of the festival, Souq Waqif is a destination for visitors and tourists from Qatar and abroad and is highly popular among citizens and expatriates, for its activities, exhibitions and festivals throughout the year.
The seasonal market for dates will provide aplatform for companies to showcase varieties of dates, and the products made of dates.
To encourage and support companies to participate in the festival, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce has launched an initiative in coordination with Qatar Airways and Gulf Warehousing Company.

The Seasonal Dates Market offers a unique opportunity by providing a space for traders, entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises to display their dates and products made of dates for consumers, which will have a positive impact on them.
