Al Maktoum Foundation continues charitable campaigns in Egypt

DUBAI, 13th January, 2018 (WAM) -- The Al Maktoum Foundation will continue its "Charitable Hearts" campaign this year after closing 2017 with the inauguration of the "Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Study Hall" at the Faculty of Engineering in Minia University.

This was done after restoring and equipping the study hall with various teaching tools and study materials, one of 20 classrooms due to undergo an overhaul by the foundation this academic term.

The President of Minia University, Dr. Gamal El-Magd, expressed his appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, for his support to schools and universities in Egypt and in other countries.

Dr. El-Magd also extended an invite to Sheikh Hamdan to visit the Minya Governorate in Upper Egypt and review the results of his extensive efforts in the region.

Mirza Al Sayegh, Director of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum's Office and Board Member of the Al Maktoum Foundation, said, "Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid has directed the foundation to intensify its activities in Egypt during the "Year of Zayed" in 2018, reflecting the late Sheikh Zayed's love for the country."

He added that the campaign includes the distribution of food, school supplies and uniforms, as well as the running of small projects and settling the debts of poor families in Upper Egypt.
