(MENAFN) An 11-year-old Toronto girl has had her parts of her hijab cut off by a scissors-wielding man on her way to school.
The student girl said on Friday that while she was walking with her younger brother, she felt someone behind her, and then the man pulled off the hood of her jacket and started cutting the back of her hijab, which made her turn around and scream.
She also added that he came back another time later and continued to cut her hijab from behind, then he smiled and ran away.
On the meantime, her mother is appealing to police to handle it as a hate crime, while they are searching for a suspect in his 20s.
