Qatar as UNHCR top Mena donor after USD26m contribution
(MENAFN) Qatar has delivered a $26 million contribution to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) over the period of year, turning it into the leading donor from the Middle East and North Africa region.
Qatar was listed as the 19th contributor for UNHCR, providing aid for countless refugees around the world, counting uprooted families in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, Somalia, among other countries.
"At time where twenty people are forcibly displaced every minute, Qatar's generous contributions are much needed, and have played an integral role in UNHCR's emergency response," UNHCR Regional Representative to the GCC countries Khaled Khalifa stated.
