Kuwait, Tunisia to form military cmte


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, Jan 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait and Tunisia agreed Friday to form a bilateral committee to boost military cooperation, particularly training and border monitoring.

The committee formation was agreed during talks between Kuwait Ambassador in Tunis Ali Al-Dhefeeri with Tunisian Defense Minister Abdulkareem Al-Zubaidi, the defense ministry said in a statement.

Al-Zubaidi appreciated Kuwait's support to Tunisia in all fields including the military domain, it said.

He said Tunisia and Kuwait shared common security challenges. He called for making a good use of Kuwait experience in training and border monitoring.

Al-Dhefeeri said Kuwait was keen on promoting military cooperation with Tunisia.

He underlined importance of developing Tunisia's military and security capabilities to address growing security challenges in the region. (end) ksj.bs
