Madrid, Rabi'II 23, 1439, Jan 10, 2018, SPA -- The two major independence parties in the Spanish region of Catalonia have agreed to form a governing coalition led by ousted leader Carles Puigdemont, local media reported on Wednesday.
Coalition forming agreement was made by Puigdemont and the leader of the left-wing nationalist ERC party, Marta Rovira, on Tuesday evening in Brussels, according to Europa Press and Spanish newspaper El Pais, citing sources from within the negotiations.
The parties are reliant on the support of the smaller hard-left CUP, which is yet to give its consent to Puigdemont as head of government.
