Qatar- Embassy of India organises Pravasi Bharatiya Observance Day

Embassy of India, Doha - Qatar in association with Indian Cultural Centre, organised Pravasi Bharatiya Observance Day 2018 on January 9 at ICC Ashoka Hall.

Presentations about Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) and remembrance of PBD 2017 were shown.

The meeting was attended by over 200 members from the Indian community including last years' PBD delegates from Qatar and other Indian Community members.

ICC Vice President, A P Manikantan welcomed the gathering. Last year Pravasi Bharathiya Awardee, Dr R Seetharaman, CEO of Doha Bank was the Guest of Honor. P Kumaran, Ambassador of India was the Chief guest of the function.

Special speech was delivered by Pravasi Bharathiya Samman Awardee, Hassan Chougule, ICC Advisory Council Chairman.

Ambassador, in his speech appreciated the Indian community in Qatar for the loyalty and hard work which was well acknowledged by the Qatari authorities and requested them to continue and strive for the better.

He also requested Indian Community to support the Government of India's initiatives.

ICC General Secretary, Juttas Paul delivered the vote of thanks. ICC Joint Secretary, Sriraja Vijayan conducted the programme.
