DOHA: The Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal', has announced a traffic change on Mesaimeer Intersection (Leabidly Roundabout) on E-Ring Road leading from Doha and Industrial Area as well as from Doha Expressway to E-Ring Road, Rawdat Al Khail Street and Industrial Area.

The detour, designed in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic, will be in effect on Saturday (January 13) and last for two years to facilitate the revamp of Leabidly Roundabout into a multi-level interchange.

Also, the Leabidly Roundabout Bridge will be closed to traffic from E-Ring Road towards Industrial Area.

During the diversion, Doha-bound traffic from Industrial Area will be detoured right prior to Leabidly Roundabout to a newly built road towards E-Ring Road, where a fresh light signal was installed to control traffic in all directions including Rawdat Al Khail Street and Doha Expressway.

Road users travelling from Doha Expressway towards Industrial Area, E-Ring Road or Rawdat Al Khail Street can take right prior to Leabidly Roundabout onto a newly built road towards Industrial Area Road, where a fresh light signal was installed to control traffic in all directions involving E-Ring Road.

Road users travelling from E-Ring Road towards Industrial Area can use the recently-installed light signal before Leabidly Roundabout and take left onto the new route towards Industrial Area Road.

Road users travelling from Rawdat Al Khail Street towards Industrial Area can use Leabidly Roundabout then turn left onto the third exit and turn right via the next signal towards Industrial Area Road.

Also, road users travelling from Rawdat Al Khail Street towards Industrial Area can turn right at Leabidly Roundabout onto the next light signal then perform a U-turn towards the new route and the Industrial Area Route.

Ashghal will install road signs providing motorists with advance notice of the new road layout. The Public Works Authority requests all road users to abide by the new speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
