Emir holds phone talk with Paraguay president

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday held a telephone conversation with Paraguay President Horacio Cartes. The conversation reviewed bilateral relations and means of boosting and developing them, in addition to a set of issues of mutual interest.

Qatar win international
friendly tournament

Qatar beat Oman 38-18 yesterday to win an international friendly handball tournament at Al Duhail Sports Hall. The win against Oman was Qatar's third in the tournament, having earlier beaten Algeria and Iran. Iran finished second after beating Algeria 31-28 in the second match,while Algeria finished third and Oman fourth. The international friendly tournament was the last phase in the preparation of the Qatari team who will be playing the Asian Championship later this month. Saudi Arabia, China and New Zealand feature in Qatar's group in the Asian Championship.
