Jordan- Senate committee discusses decentralization challenges


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 10 (Petra)--The Senate's Financial and Economic Committee on Wednesday, discussed with a number of ministers and members of the governorate councils in the Kingdom, major challenges and obstacles facing decentralization, and their impact on economic development.

Senator Rajai Muasher said the government focuses in its approach on achieving objectives of financial reform as well as economic stimulation plans at the same time.

Interior Minister Ghalib Al Zu'bi said the government works to ensure the success of decentralization through providing all means of support it.

The committee also met with heads of governorate councils and discussed main obstacles facing the councils in carrying out their duties.
