Protester killed in Tunisia


(MENAFN) A man was killed in an anti-government protest in Tunis which has been witnessing a wave of protests over rising prices and tax hikes.

The man, who had chronic breathing problems and died due to suffocation from inhaling tear gas, was killed in Tebourba, 40 kilometres west of Tunis.

Tunisia, broadly seen as the only democratic victory among nations where Arab Spring revolutions took place in 2011, is suffering growing economic hardship, the dinar reached a record low on Monday over trade shortfall data and other factors.
