Chasing a paltry total of 105 to win, Oman raced to the target in 14 overs, thanks to an unbroken opening partnership of 106 between Sameer (61) and Rushil Dadwal (34).Earlier, Sameer excelled with ball as he claimed four wickets for 11 runs as Oman restricted Maldives to 104 for eight in 35 overs. Adeel Abbas bagged two for 20.
Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Bahrain comprise Pool A with top two teams advancing to the semis.The final will be played on January 13.
