Srinivasan Keshav


(MENAFN- The Conversation) I received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991. I was subsequently a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Labs and, from 1996 to 1999, an Associate Professor at Cornell. In 1999 I temporarily left academia to co-found Ensim Corporation and GreenBorder Technologies Inc. I have been at the University of Waterloo since 2003, holding first a Canada Research Chair and subsequently the Cisco Chair in Smart Grid. My awards include the Director's Gold Medal at IIT Delhi, a Sloan Fellowship, the Sakrison Prize, two Test of Time awards from ACM SIGCOMM, and Best Paper awards at ACM SIGCOMM and ACM MOBICOM. I am the author of two graduate textbooks on computer networking. I served as Chair of ACM SIGCOMM from 2013 to 2017 and as Associate Dean of Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Mathematics from 2015 to 2017.
