Visits to Oman by Pakistan naval ships reflect soaring ties: Envoy
(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Three vessels from Pakistan Navy, submarine Hurmat accompanied by ships Rahnaward and Rasadgar visited Muscat from December 29 to January 1.
The vessels were led by Commodore Altaf Hussain, Commander Submarines.
According to a press release, a reception was hosted for the Diplomatic Corps and a large number of prominent Pakistanis on December 30. A number of officers of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) also attended the reception.
Commodore Hussain called on Pakistan's Ambassador to Oman H E Ali Javed.
Praising the substantive effort made by Pakistan Navy to further fraternal ties with the Sultanate of Oman, the ambassador accorded a comprehensive briefing on bilateral relations and praised the increasing frequency of goodwill visits by Pakistan Navy, reflective of the soaring trajectory of cooperation.
The mission commander and commanding officers also called on the SAF authorities and visited Said bin Sultan Naval Base, Wudam.
The goodwill visit also contribute towards improving interoperability and learning from each other's experiences on maritime operations.
Upon departing Port Sultan Qaboos, the Pakistani sailing vessel Rahnaward and Shabab Oman-II sailed together as a mark of bilateral friendship, added the release.
