(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, Jan 7 (KUNA) -- The Turkish Air Force killed six PKK militants in air raids on PKK positions in northern Iraq, the Turkish military said Sunday.
The PKK positions were targeted in an operation in Kani Rash Town in northern Iraq, as the militants planned to attack Turkish military bases, according to a Turkish General Staff statement.
Six PKK militants were killed in the operation, said the statement.
Listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the EU, the PKK resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015, killing over 1,000 Turkish security personnel and civilians. (end) ta.mt
