Qatar- Pact signed for meet on construction materials in Oman

Doha: A conference on primary construction materials is set to be held in Oman on March 28 gathering officials, businessmen and companies from Qatar and Oman and other investors.

The conference will discuss opportunities and challenges being faced in the field of primary construction materials whether in production or related to export to Qatar and other countries.

The conference is being organised by Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) and Hawkama Center, one of the leading companies in organising conferences in Qatar.

For the purpose, Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) and Hawkama Center recently signed an agreement.

The conference is taking place in Oman at the time when Oman has become a focal point and a major source for shipping primary construction materials to Qatar to meet its growing demand of these materials to complete its infrastructure projects related to 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The participation of the GOIC organisation in this event has come within the framework of its commitment and key role in encouraging bilateral cooperation in the field of trade and industry within the Gulf states, said Dr Ali Hamed Al Mulla, Secretary-General of the Origanisation.

The organisation has long experience in the area of primary materials in Oman and was producing feasibility studies for official entities in this regards, he added.

For his part, Director of Hawkama Center Babeker Osman said there are many official and commercial entities in Qatar including Qatar Primary Construction Materials will support the conference encouraging different sectors to benefit from the huge potential of Oman in order to meet the needs of the State of Qatar.

Construction materials like gabbro and limestone are widely available in the Sultanate of Oman and they are essential to meet the growing demand of Qatar to build its urban renaissance.
