(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Mark it on your calendars: All three Ball brothers will be playing for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.
So says LaVar Ball.
While making yet another media appearance in Lithuania, where sons LiAngelo and LaMelo are playing professionally, the outspoken Ball father was asked by a reporter when his sons would join oldest brother Lonzo on the Lakers.
But because LaVar Ball isn't just any basketball dad, the proclamation went beyond simply calling out a year. Instead, LaVar signed a Lakers hat the reporter was wearing (he was also wearing a Lakers shirt) with the inscription of 2020.
That is the year LaMelo, now 16, would be eligible for the NBA draft. LiAngelo is draft-eligible this year and, as LaVar told the reporter, 'Gelo will be this year.
Of course, LaVar Ball is no stranger to making headlines. But the founder of Big Baller Brand and his kids have been making headlines off the court recently, and not all of them good. Most notably, son LiAngelo in November was arrested with two UCLA teammates in China for allegedly shoplifting. A couple weeks later, the Lakers implemented the 'LaVar Ball rule, changing the rules for how media conduct interviews because of the large crowds the Ball patriarch attracts at games.
But all three Ball Bros. on the same court? Just how good could they be? As LaVar told the Lithuanian media after signing the hat:
'All my boys are good. Two of them together? Awesome. Three of them together? Unbeatable.
