New Virginia House race appeal dismissed

(MENAFN) Following an election official claim of 147 voters in the Alexandria, Virginia's 28th District acquiring the wrong ballot, a federal judge in the state had dismissed an appeal for a new election in a Fredericksburg-area House of Delegates race.

According to the Associated Press, the errors on the ballots were described by U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III as a "garden variety" matter that does not demand the involvement of federal government.

The judge also pointed out that the mistakes seem to show "no claim of a great claim of a conspiracy to dilute these votes or do anything nefarious."
