US freezes UNRWA's funding

(MENAFN) The United States has cut the yearly funding, 125 million, for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

A third of the annual U.S. donation to UNRWA was made up to be given by Jan. 1 but was frozen until administration of US President Donald Trump finishes its review of US aid to the Palestinian Authority.

"There is no existing schedule that obligates the US to provide specific amounts of aid to UNWRA on specific dates," according to The Jerusalem Post quoting from a senior administration official.
