Jordan- Cold, cloudy conditions continue for three days


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan.6 (Petra) -- The Kingdom on Saturday remains under the impact of the cold wet air mass accompanied by the depression that started moving east to center over Iraq, the Jordan Meteorological Department(JMD) said.

Cold and cloudy to partly cloudy skies will prevail today with spells of rain in different parts of the country, mainly in the western areas. At night, the weather will gradually stabilize with decreasing clouds and northwesterly moderate winds.

Fog formation is also forecast over the highlands Saturday night causing low visibility, the JMD said.

A slight rise in temperatures is expected over the next two days, but similar cold conditions will continue with frost formation after midnight in the Badia regions and the hilly areas.

Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman and the northern cities will hover around 11 degrees Celsius, dropping down at night to 6 and 5 respectively. Mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will register a high of 23 degrees and a low 13, the JMD added.
