Kuwait- Turkey arrests 121 migrants
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, Jan 5 (KUNA) -- Turkish coast guards have caught 121 undocumented migrants while attempting to cross into Greece, Turkish security sourcse said Friday.
Turkish coast guard teams stopped a boat off Dikili district of the Aegean province of Izmir and rounded up 64 illegal migrants, the security sources were quoted by Turkey's Anadolu news agency as saying.
The arrested migrants include 58 Syrians and six Pakistanis, the sources added.
In a separate operation, the Turkish coast guard held 57 migrants, all of them Syrian nationals, in Izmir's Cesme district, the sources noted.
The migrants have been transferred to Izmir's migration management authorities. (end) ta.mt
