Jordan- Protest at Parliament, Calls to Revoke Budget Bill

AMMAN —AlGhad— A coalition of leftists and national movements and parties organised a stand-in today, Sunday, in front of Parliament, protesting the recommendation of the House Committee on Financial Affairs to pass the 2018 Budget Bill, despite the 'costly de-subsidisations entailed.

The Democratic Popular Unity Party's made a statement, describing the Committee's recommendations as inconsiderate, provocative and 'not in the best interests of citizens.

Protestors called for the House to drop the Bill, as the House launches debates on the Budget today, after the Committee submitted its recommendations.

The stand-in was organised by the Popular Unity Party, thepan-nationalist movement party, the Bread and Democracy Campaign, the Nasiri Pan-Arabism Forum, the Arab Forum, Mawtini Forum, the National Campaign for the annulment of the Israeli gas agreement, 'No Gas Jo as well as the independent labour associations.
