Home Office to consider volunteers to guard several UK borders
(MENAFN) The Home Office declared volunteers to have what it takes to guard several borders of the United Kingdom.
The proposal which is being discussed to be acted upon is for "Border Force Special Volunteers" to be positioned at small air and sea ports.
The Home Office is "considering the potential benefits" and studying the way police forces are using them, according to its spokesman.
However, the plans were denied on Sunday by Conservative MP Charlie Elphicke as he insisted "we can't have a Dad's Army-type of set-up."
