Jordan- Lower House begins budget debate..................2nd LD


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) An array of lawmakers, who also took the podium in today's session, aired diverse demands of their governorates, with eye on boosting infrastructural, medical, and educational services.

The MPs voiced their dissatisfaction with the gov't tax measures, and spurred it to scrap municipalities' debts, in a bid to foster their overall service-driven roles.

One deemed the budget bill as based on " unprofessional predictions" and repetitive of earlier deficit-plagued versions.

They, moreover, called the gov't to reassess its int'l policies, in light of the Washington's step to relocate its embassy to Jerusalem, and said foreign aid is not funneled for relief ends only, but has a conspicuous political agenda.

They stressed the dire need to rejuvenate the Audit Bureau's role, a step necessary to axe deficit, and urged to increase appropriations of social security network.
