UAE- Screens to broadcast Burj Khalifa light show at labour accommodations

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Dubai Police have installed huge screens in labour camps at Al Quoz and Al Qusais to broadcast the laser light show at Burj Khalifa to thousands of labourers at midnight.

1,500 meals will also be served at each of the two labour accommodations. In the run up to the live broadcast, they will be shown movies on the screens. The screens will be located in Al Muhaisna area near Emirates post and Al Quoz behind Royal Enfield Garage.

Brigadier Abdulla Ali Abdulla Al Ghithi, Director of Protective Security department said the aim of the initiative is to share the joy of New Year with everyone.

"The labourers may not have any means to commute to the boulevard area on New year's eve. By installing the screens, we are enabling them to enjoy the New year celebrations from the comfort of their labour accommodations. They need not travel to the downtown area amid heavy traffic."

In the run up to the live broadcast at midnight, the labourers can watch movies and enjoy free meals. The movies will start before 10pm.
