Palestinian man dies of wounds from Gaza clashes


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GAZA, Dec 30 (KUNA) -- A young Palestinian man who was shot by Israeli forces on Friday in the ensuing violence along the Gaza border has succumbed to his injuries, the Palestinian health ministry announced Saturday.

Jamal Maslah, 20, died from a gunshot wound fired by Israeli forces during clashes in Gaza on Friday, Ashraf Al-Qadra, a spokesman for the ministry, told reporters.

He revealed that 50 other Palestinians also sustained injuries in the clashes, five of whom are in critical condition.

Violence has flared between Israeli forces and Palestinians in the wake of US President Donald Trump's recent decision recognizing the holy city of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The move has triggered an uproar across the greater Arab region. (end) wab.nam
