Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 28

By Maksim Tsurkov – Trend:

Joint Azerbaijan-Belarus tractor assembly plant will be opened in Turkey next year, Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan Gennady Akhramovich said at a press conference in Baku Dec. 28.

He noted that the plant's opening is scheduled for the third or the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2018.

'We have been cooperating with the Ganja Automobile Plant already for 13 years,' he said. 'It is a big industrial facility. For 13 years of cooperation, more than 10,000 tractors and over 4,000 trucks and special purpose products were assembled. In 2018, we plan to implement quite an ambitious project on creation of a plant to assemble Belarusian equipment in Turkey together with the Ganja Automobile Plant.'

He added that the access to the Turkish market in such a complex and competitive industry is a grandiose success of the Azerbaijani industry.

The ambassador noted that the parties had a fruitful work on development of exports to third countries.

'Dozens of tractors were delivered to Georgia within this work,' said Akhramovich. 'It is planned to continue supplying equipment to other neighboring countries.'
