The Court of First Instance punished five men who stole an iron locker at a commercial company and sentenced them to five years' imprisonment each followed by an expulsion from the country.

According to the report in Arabic daily Al-Sharq, the Public Prosecution referred five men to the Court of First Instance on charges of entering a trading company using duplicate keys and stealing a locker that contained 290 thousand Qatari Riyal apart from some official documents.

The police sniffer dog tracked the locker to a desert area.

The locker was found empty except for the papers. Police also found fingerprints using which a suspect list was drawn. The dog then helped identify the five men who had stolen the money, which was hidden inside a pillow in their residence.

The accounting company that had insured the office of the company confirmed that the locker, with 290 thousand riyals and papers belonged to the firm.

The Peninsula newspaper posts these kind of legal cases from the court, to raise awareness about the dangers of violating laws or infringing on others in the country.
