Qatar Press Center holds first meeting

The board of directors of Qatar Press Center held yesterday its first meeting afterapproval of its establishment as a private institution for public benefit in line with the provisions of the law No. 21 of 2006 about private foundations. Various media and press establishments in Qatar had submitted application to set up the center to develop journalism and take care of affairs of media professionals in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

In a statement, the board of directors said that Saleh bin Afsan Al Kuwari was elected the Chairman and Dr Majid Al Ansari as his deputy, while Dr Muhammad Saleh Al Misfer, Dr Rabia Sabah Al Kuwari and Abdulaziz Al Mahmoud were made board members.

Sadiq Mohammed Al Amari was elected Secretary and Abdullah bin Hamad Al Athba Director General of the Qatar Press Center.

The Qatar Press Center will have its headquarters soon.

All media professionals and journalists in Qatar are invited to become its members.

The Center will be a media and journalism club. It will hold events, conduct research and media studies and establish partnerships with relevant authorities, centers and clubs worldwide.
