Saudi Arabia: new TV channel to be launched


(MENAFN) Saudi Culture and Information Minister Dr. Auwad bin Saleh Al-Auwad announced Wednesday that Saudi satellite TV channel Al-Ikhbariya is to be changed into a limited liability company (LLC) to be recognized as Ikhbariya Network Company.

According to the SPA, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) and Radio and Television Corporation are to both own the company on fifty /fifty grounds.

The reporting of events and news are to be enhanced after working on establishing an English-language new channel and improving the Arabic-language news channel in the company, aiming to allow Saudis to keep in touch with local as well as global news, according to Dr. Al-Auwad.
