Chrysler recalls cars in China

(MENAFN) According to China's consumer quality authority, US automaker Chrysler has started recalling 19,572 imported vehicles in China due to defective airbags.

The recall includes Jeep Wrangler off-road vehicles and Chrysler 300C sedans, made in 2004-2012.

Some of the vehicles have defective inflators of the front passenger airbags, produced by Takata, which might split improperly and send potentially fatal shrapnel into passengers when the airbags explode.

The issue has been linked to multiple deaths and injuries all over the world, as defect affects over 20m vehicles in China, most of which have already been recalled
