Vodafone Qatar is committed to encourage Qatar's budding entrepreneurs, said Mahmud Awad, Chief Business Officer, Vodafone Qatar. Supporting the growth and success of small businesses in a bid to diversify the economy is a major priority for the State of Qatar and Vodafone Qatar.

The company helps business in the country to adapt to fast-paced technological changes.

'At Vodafone Qatar, we're ideally placed to play our part by enabling such businesses to adapt to the rapid technological changes taking shape all around us, said Awad.

'In accordance with Qatar's National Development Strategy for 2011-2016 and its 2030 National Vision, Vodafone Qatar is committed to providing innovative services designed to further develop the SMEs and SOHO sector as the country progresses toward its vision of becoming a knowledge-based economy, he said.

Government data indicates that growing numbers of new businesses are being established.

Recent figures from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce highlighted a 51 percent increase in new business registrations between June and October 2017 — an enormously positive result despite the economic blockade. Various international reports and indices support this picture. Qatar is ranked second in the world in terms of providing a stable macroeconomic environment, and the recently published Global Entrepreneurship Index 2018 suggests Qatar is first in the GCC, second in the region, and 22nd in the world in terms of supporting businesses to succeed.

'We're proud to say that Vodafone stands ready to be a long-term partner to the country and play a part as a catalyst to these developments. We spend a lot of time speaking to company owners to understand the pressures they face, exactly what they need to achieve their business goals, and how we can help, said Awad.

'What we are increasingly seeing is that businesses of all shapes and sizes are facing similar challenges whilst trying to capitalise on opportunities presented by the blurring of boundaries between mobile, fixed communications and IT. Rapid changes in technology adds complexity and increases customer demands and expectations, he said.

Awad added that Vodafone works with companies of all size and helps them to grow. 'Vodafone is the ideal partner to support business success thanks to our global capabilities. Our enterprise team work closely with customers of all sizes in Qatar from large to small businesses, and public-sector entities enabling them to develop and grow, he said. 'We understand their need for simplicity, speed and flexibility. They are looking for a partner for growth, and one with a deep appreciation of the commercial pressures they face, he added.

As one of the world's leading telecommunications businesses, Vodafone is perfectly placed to support organisations in grasping this new technological reality.

'We combine the expertise and experience needed to enable them to survive and thrive. We do this by providing innovative solutions, drawing on our global expertise and bringing the latest technologies, including Internet of Things (IoT) to market, explained Awad.

'We're uniquely able to develop tailor-made, smart and specific solutions based on our customers' needs by leveraging our capabilities from around the world and developing packages designed to fulfil their requirements — from internet to land-line and mobile, and increasingly fleet management, asset tracking and smart Wi-Fi, he added. 'It is a great time to be a business in Qatar. And with Vodafone as your partner for growth, you can be sure of the support you need to succeed, Awad concluded.
