Medical crews suspend work in Gaza due to poor hygiene conditions


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Gaza, Dec.27(Petra) -- Doctors and medical staff in Al-Shefa'a Medical Complex in the Gaza Strip announced work stoppage for hygiene lapses and lack of clean environment and services provided to patients.

Sources at the complex said that medical operations stopped in fear of cross-infection among patients, due to piles of rubbish following cleaning workers' strike over failure to pay their salaries .

More than 800 cleaning workers in hospitals and medical facilities of the Ministry of Health in the besieged enclave, have not been paid for four months, the sources said .
