Pakistan- KP govt approves monthly stipend for pesh imams


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved payment of monthly stipend to pesh imams (prayer leaders) of jamia mosques in the whole province.

Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak gave this approval while chairing a meeting in Peshawar on Tuesday. The chief minister said the stipend has been given keeping in view the religious dedication and financial needs of pesh imams and there is no political motive behind this move. He directed the Finance Department to arrange funds and send summary in this regard.

Under the policy, the Pakistani pesh imams of jamia mosques qualified from registered seminaries will get Rs10,000 stipend per month.
