(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Dec 26 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's keenness on holding the 38th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on time, and hosting the "Gulf 23' football tournament reflect his deep interest in "Gulf reunion," MPs indicated on Tuesday.
The National Assembly today discussed His Highness the Amir's speech to the opening of Second Session of the 15th Legislative Term, October 24.
The lawmakers stressed the need for diversifying the sources of income and reducing reliance on oil revenues solely. They urged focus on the economic reform program, curbing financial spoilage, and speeding up work on grand development projects to provide new jobs for the Kuwaiti youth.
The legislators reiterated the prime importance of preserving national unity and joining efforts to counter external challenges and perils, besides boosting cooperation between the Legislative and Executive Powers.
