Oman- Second edition activities of Desert Guide Caravan to end today

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Activities of the second edition of 'Desert Guide Caravan' journey , organised from December 15 to 18 in the wilayat of Bidiyah in the Sharqiyah Sands, will conclude on Tuesday at the Ministry of Tourism headquarters. It will be held under the auspices of H E Maitha bint Saif al Mahrouqiyah, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Tourism (MoT).

Four Omani desert travellers and participants, in addition to the work team and sponsors will be honoured during the concluding ceremony which includes a photography exhibition as well. Ahmed bin Harib al Mahrouqi, one of the four desert travellers said that the concluding ceremony will be held over a two-day period.

The camels' caravan will travel on Monday from Al Khoudh crossing in Mawaleh South till the Ministries District in Al Khuwayr. He said that on the occasion of ending the journey, a bedouin tent will be set up for a day at a place located between the Ministry of Interior and MoT. The tent will be open for the public to get updates on the bedouin life.

A number of booklets and tourism handouts will be distributed to visitors. The second edition of the desert caravan began in Bidiyah in North Sharqiyah on December 15. The caravan travelled for a total of 50km in the desert passing by Sama al Areesh camp, Sama al Wasil Camp and Desert Night Camp.
