Kuwait philanthropic acts spread worldwide


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Dec 26 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait has been active in philanthropic activities throughout 2017, living up to its UN-bestowed status as an International Humanitarian Center.

Following are major humanitarian aid offered by the State of Kuwait during this year: January 9: Kuwait handed 3,200 food baskets to Iraqi displaces in Qayyarah Camp South of Mosul.

January 10: Kuwait distributed 150 food baskets, 150 heating units to displaced students from the province of Nineveh to Dahuk as well as 300 food baskets and 300 heating units for Iraqi displaced students from Nineveh to Kirkuk.

January 12: Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) delivered 30,000 liters of heating fuel to displaced Iraqis in Hassan sham Camp near Irbil, northern Iraq.

January 12: Kuwait General Consulate distributed food items on 25,000 displaced Iraqis in Debaga Camp near Irbil.

January 13: Kuwait distributed 150 tons of food in liberated neighborhoods of Mosul.

January 15: KRCS signed agreement with Save the Children International to provide medical care for Syrian refugees.

January 15: Kuwait distributed 1,500 food baskets and 2,500 blankets on displaced Iraqis in camps in Qayyarah south of Mosul.

January 15: KRCS distributed 1,200 food baskets on the displaced families from Mosul into camos in Kurdistan region.

January 15: Kuwait distributed 3,300 food baskets on the liberated areas of Mosul.

January 16: KRCS signed two agreements with one of Kurdistan region companies to build five schools and three medical centers in Irbil and Dahuk.

January 16: KRCS distributed humanitarian aid on 200 displaced Syrian families in Beqaa Valley, east Lebanon.

January 16: KRCS sent 22nd batch of relief supplies to Syrian refugees in Jordan weighted 110 tons. January 16: KRCS distributed 860 food baskets on Mosul refugees.

January 17: KRCS distributed 1,500 food baskets on Iraqis refugees in Darkar Camp in Kurdistan region.

January 19: KRCS distributed 2,500 food baskets, 2,500 medical care baskets and 30,000 liters of white oil on Mosul's refugees in Hassan Sham Camp.

January 19: Kuwait relief run some 18 trucks laden with humanitarian aid into Syria from the southern Turkish province of Hatay. January 20: KRCS distributed 30,000 liters of white oil on Iraqi refugees in camps on Irbil. January 30: Kuwait offers 30,000 liters of heating fuel on Iraqis' refugees in Nineveh region.

February 2: KRCS signed agreement with Humanitarian African Relief Organization to drill 16 water wells for the students in Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania.

February 16: KRCS announced that a plane carrying humanitarian aid to Somalia has left Abdullah Al-Mubarak airbase carrying ten tons of food items.

February 17: KRCS and the Qatar Red Crescent signed agreement to provide medical care for renal insufficiency disease in a camp for Syrian refugees in Lebanon's Bekaa. On February 17: KRCS distributed 12,400 food and medical baskets on Iraqis refugees in the camps south of Mosul. On March 2: KRCS provides water tanks in many Somalian villages that suffers of drought and water scarcity.

March 2: Kuwait distributed 4,000 food baskets on the liberated area in Mosul.

March 2: KRCS has inaugurated 16 water wells in a number of schools in Tanzania. March 8: Kuwait relief offers 1,500 food baskets on Iraqis refugees southwest of Irbil.

March 14: International Islamic Charitable Organization (ICCO) distributes 18,000 food baskets on Somalia famine victims.

March 16: KRCS offers 30,000 liter of heating oil on refugees in Irbil.

March 16: KRCS distributed 400 relief baskets on displaces Syrian in north Lebanon.

March 17: KRCS distributed 30,000 liters of oil on Mosul's refugees.

March 17: ICCO and Turkish Red Crescent signed memorandum of understanding to help needy people around the world.

March 19: KRCS distributes 3,000 food and medical baskets on Mosul's refugees.

March 20: KRCS offers 3,000 food baskets on displaces in Mosul.

April 25: The General Consulate of Kuwait in Irbil delivered 700 food baskets to displaced Iraqis.

April 26: Kuwait provided a donation to the Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon.

April 27: Kuwait distributed 135 tons of food on 4,500 displaced Iraqi families who fled Mosul's rights side.

April 29: Kuwait built a school for displaced Iraqis in Hassan Sham camp in Irbil.

May 10: Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) delivered 6,725 food baskets on displaced Iraqis in Mosul.

May 19: Al-Najat Charity delivered 1,500 food baskets on displaced Iraqis in Sulaymaniyah Governorate.

May 22: KRCS delivered 2,000 food baskets on displaced Iraqis in Basra.

May 24: Kuwait delivered 1,300 food baskets for needy people in Mosul's right side.

June 18: KRCS delivered 1,500 food baskets to displaced Iraqis in Al-Khazer camp southwestern Irbil.

June 30: KRCS and Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) signed two agreements to aid displaced Syrians in Lebanon.

July 13: Kuwait distributed 30 tons of food and drinking water on people living in the right side of Mosul, Iraq.

July 31: KRCS distributed 5,000 meals on protesters at gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

August 6: Kuwait launched a project to build 30 schools in the Yemeni governorate of Al-Dhale'.

August 8: Kuwait began distribution of 3,000 food baskets on locals in Ta'ez, Yemen.

August 10: Kuwait distributed 4,750 food baskets for people in Ebb, Yemen.

August 10: Kuwait donated USD million for the Tunisian Ministry of Religious Affairs to renovate Zeitouna Mosque.

August 15: Kuwait provided 55 tons of medical supplies for hospitals in the Iraqi city of Mosul.

September 8: Kuwait allocated USD 1.5 million to provide urgent humanitarian supplies for the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.

September 11: KRCS launches donation campaign for the Rohingyas.

October 18: KRCS provided urgent medical supplies to treat the wounded of terrorist explosions in Mogadishu, Somalia.

October 23: Kuwait, during an international donor conference in Geneva, donated USD 15 million for the Rohingyas.

November 8: KRCS signed an MoU with the International Federation of Red Cross and Crescent (IFRC) to exchange expertise in humanitarian action.

November 9: KRCS distributed aid for the displaced in Sri Lanka.

November 20: KRCS distributes aid for victims of the earthquake in Iraq.

November 27: KRCS distributed aid for the earthquake victims in Iraq's Kurdistan province.

December 10: KRCS distributes 30,000 liters of white oil to earthquake-hit people in Iraq's Kurdistan region. (end) eng
